Q:What is the differece between Marine and Yacht Engineering ?
A:
Marine Engineering is the branch of engineering relating to commercial and military shipping or the private yachting industry. Also, for shoreside engineering related to the marine environment, such as, boat repair yards or boat building yards.
 
A Marine Engineer has to have good operating and theoretical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and electronic engineering, as well as understanding aspects of vessel stability, chemistry and fuel technology.
 
A Yacht Engineer is the term given to an engineer specifically employed on private or charter yachts. He/she is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all of the mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic equipment, including associated systems, on board the yacht.
